Privacy Policy

The short version

SmartMoney Tools has no backend that receives, stores, or processes the loan amounts, balances, interest rates, or savings goals you type in — every calculator runs entirely in your web browser, and we keep no database of your inputs. There is one exception worth understanding: to make results shareable, your inputs are encoded in the page's web address (URL). Whenever a page is opened with those values in its address — because you reloaded, bookmarked, or followed a shared link — that address is sent to our hosting provider as part of the normal web request, and can appear in routine server logs and in your browser history. See “Information stored on your device” below for how to keep a calculation private.

Information we do not collect

We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not collect your name, email address, or any financial data through the calculators. There is no database of user inputs because the math happens on your own computer or phone.

Information stored on your device

We save your light or dark theme preference using your browser's local storage. This value stays on your device and is never transmitted anywhere.

Your calculator inputs are also encoded in the page's web address so you can copy and share a link to an exact calculation. While you are simply typing, this address updates locally in your browser without contacting our host. But if you reload, bookmark, or open a link that contains figures, that full address — including those figures — is sent to our hosting provider like any normal web request, may be recorded in routine server logs, and is saved in your browser history. Because this site loads Google's advertising script, the page address can also be shared with our advertising partner. So treat a link containing real figures like any sensitive information, and only share it when you intend to.

Advertising and cookies

This site is supported by advertising served through Google AdSense and its partners. These third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
  • You can also opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting aboutads.info.

If you are in a region covered by the GDPR, ePrivacy, or similar rules, ad partners may present a consent prompt so you can choose whether personalized ads are shown. You can withdraw or change that consent at any time through the same prompt.

Analytics

We may use privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics to understand how many people visit the site and which calculators are most used. Any such data is anonymous and is not tied to the figures you enter into the tools.

Children's privacy

This site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the revised policy.
